Chemical Engineering Research
The faculty in Chemical Engineering (CHEN) Program are engaged in scholarly activities that range from applied to fundamental research and they have been very successful in establishing strong collaboration with governmental and industrial agencies as well as internationally recognized academic institutions not only in Qatar but also worldwide. The CHEN faculty secured more than $15 million in research funding during the last two years only. Active research areas in the CHEN program include liquefied natural gas safety, water and environmental management, desalination, gas-to-liquid conversion, applied catalysis, design and simulation of chemical reactors, energy efficiency, process integration and optimization, oil and gas processing, nonlinear modeling, and process dynamics and control. We have research laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in these areas. We also have well trained research staff with experience in modeling and experimental research.
